Port Everglades Welcomes Grand Alliance GAX Service

Port Everglades recently celebrated the first vessel call of the Grand Alliance’s Gulf Atlantic Express (GAX) service. The Hapag-Lloyd container ship Philadelphia Express arrived on Aug. 24. The GAX service is jointly operated by Hapag-Lloyd and its partners NYK Line and Orient Overseas Container Line. The carriers employ a fleet of five 3,237-TEU vessels calling at Port Everglades, Houston, Savannah, Charleston, Portsmouth/Norfolk, Antwerp, Thamesport and Bremerhaven. The Journal of Commerce
