SINGAPORE's container shipping line PIL is launching a new dedicated feeder covering west Africa, including Sierra Leone, Conakry and Liberia. The service is named WA 2.
The feeder will connect Lome (acting as hub) every two weeks to Conakry, Freetown and Monrovia, reports Alphaliner.
It will deploy the newly chartered 629 TEU multipurpose MCP-type cargo vessel, the Kota Molex. She will join the service on November 12.
The new feeder service will connect the west Africa range ports via transshipment at Lome with the carrier's East Asia-South & West Africa (SW 2) loop, one of three Far East-West Africa loops, and to the Africa-Middle East-India (AMI) service. Further connections offered at Singapore and in China will link the service to the rest of PIL's network.
