HONG KONG's Gold Star Line (GSL) has announced it's adding a China-SE Asia-Colombo-Mumbai service through slots on the Central China/India (RKI/ASIP 1/CIX 3) service operated by OOCL, Hamburg Sud and RCL.
The shipping line said the service was just revised within the framework of a new arrangement involving also Maersk, CMA CGM, APL and ESL, reports Alphaliner.
The first GSL sailing is planned on February 23 from Shanghai with the Cap Arnauti. The shipping line has branded the service as 'CI3' and it brings to six the total number of GSL's weekly loops connecting the Far East to western India, either through dedicated loops or through wayporting. The initiative also concerns GSL associate, Zim.
This service calls at Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai, using six ships of between 4,200 and 6,600 TEU.
