AIR CHINA will start a Beijing-Vienna-Barcelona service on May 5 giving travellers easier access to the "Capital of Music", deploying a widebody A330-300.
The four-times weekly service CA841/2 will be offered on Mondays, Thursdays, Friday and Sundays.
Outbound flights will depart Beijing at 0210 hrs and arrive Vienna at 0610 local time and in Barcelona at 0925 local time. Return flights depart Barcelona at 1125 local time and arrive in Vienna at 1325 local time and Beijing at 0555.
For a long time, no nonstop flights were offered to link East Asia and Barcelona, and there have been very few flights between Beijing and Vienna, said the Air China statement.
With the increasingly close exchanges between China and Europe in recent years, demand for air travel is growing rapidly.
According to IATA's projections, Europe's international passenger demand is expected to grow 4.7 per cent in 2014, it said.
