Japanese shipping giant MOL Line will increase rates US$750 per TEU and $1,500 per FEU from June 15, and will also levy a $1,000 hike on reefer FEUs on all cargo from Asia to the east coast South America.
German shipping giant Hamburg Sud has announced a general rate increase of US$250 per TEU and $500 per FEU from North America and to Australia and New Zealand from July 1.
This will also apply to all cargo both dry and refrigerated moving from eastern or western Canada, said the Hamburg Sud statement.
