On Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, Midwest Airlines will celebrate joining Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with twice daily nonstop service to Kansas City, Mo.
The launch event begins at 10:55 a.m. at Gate 24 inside the terminal. According to Midwest, Austin was selected because of its appeal to both business and leisure travelers.
The first flight departs Austin at 11:25 a.m., arriving in Kansas City at 1:15 p.m.; and departing Austin at 4:30 p.m., arriving in Kansas City at 6:20 p.m. Flights will depart Kansas City at 9:00 a.m., arriving in Austin at 10:55 a.m.; and departing Kansas City at 2:00 p.m., arriving in Austin at 3:55 p.m.
"This new service will provide travelers with more choices, and passengers will enjoy Midwest's top notch service," said Jim Smith, Executive Director, City of Austin Aviation Dept. "We thank them for flying Austin."
