Midwest Airlines starts twice daily nonstop service between Austin and Kansas City Sept.17, 2007

On Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, Midwest Airlines will celebrate joining Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with twice daily nonstop service to Kansas City, Mo. The launch event begins at 10:55 a.m. at Gate 24 inside the terminal. According to Midwest, Austin was selected because of its appeal to both business and leisure travelers. The first flight departs Austin at 11:25 a.m., arriving in Kansas City at 1:15 p.m.; and departing Austin at 4:30 p.m., arriving in Kansas City at 6:20 p.m. Flights will depart Kansas City at 9:00 a.m., arriving in Austin at 10:55 a.m.; and departing Kansas City at 2:00 p.m., arriving in Austin at 3:55 p.m. "This new service will provide travelers with more choices, and passengers will enjoy Midwest's top notch service," said Jim Smith, Executive Director, City of Austin Aviation Dept.
