JAL is preparing for domestic schedule disruptions as cockpit crew, ground staff and cabin attendants plan to embark on a one-day strike on Wednesday.
The Japanese carrier said no international flights would be affected by the strike and would operate as normal.
However, 16 (or 2.6 percent) domestic flights would be cancelled out of the usual daily total of 624 flights.
On average JAL Group airlines carry on their domestic routes around 120,500 passengers on a daily basis. About 2,000 passengers could be affected by the cancellations.
The four unions are in negotiations with the JAL Group management discussing a variety of issues including their basic salary.
The four unions involved are: JAL Flight Crew Union (1,100 members), JAL Labor Union (100 members), JAL Japan Labor Union (700 members) as well as the JAL Japan Pilots Union (600 members).
