Italy's Grimaldi Group said it will upgrade the sailing frequency of its North Europe/West Africa Southern Express service from 12 to eight days as it phases in new multipurpose ships from Croatian shipyard Uljanik.
The 50,000-gross-ton Grande Angola will join the service after delivery in September. The vessel will be able to carry a mix of 2,000 vehicles, 800 TEUs as well as 2,000 linear meters of rolling cargo.
The vessel is the 12th of 18 roll-on/roll-off multipurpose and pure car truck carrier vessels being built by Uljanik for Grimaldi.
