China Merchants venture to build seaport in Vietnam

Port operator China Merchants Holdings has formed a US$60 million joint venture with Vietnam National Shipping Lines Corporation to build and operate the Ben Dinh Sao Mai Deep Seaport in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, Dow Jones reported.

 

China Merchants owns 49 percent of the venture and will contribute $29.4 million of the capital. Vietnam National Shipping Lines will contribute $30.6 million.
