Copa orders up to 21 Boeing 737s

7/20/2009 10:04:48 AM

Copa Airlines said it had ordered 13 Boeing Co 737-800 airplanes, worth about US$1 billion at list prices, and had options for an additional eight, Reuters reported.

With the announcement, Copa, a unit of Copa Holdings, now has 27 firm orders for 737s.

Delivery of the 13 newly ordered 737s is set to begin in 2012 and end in 2015.

Boeing has suffered this year under the weight of economic weakness that has led carriers to cancel or delay orders for aircraft.
