US Airways Group and Japan's All Nippon Airways have announced a planned codeshare agreement which could begin next month and is the latest effort for airlines to cooperate internationally, Dow Jones reported.
The carriers said the agreement is slated to begin September 16, pending governmental approval in both countries.
The US government has expressed some concern about what it perceives to be a lack of airline competition in international markets. Three global alliances – Star, Sky Team and oneworld – have faced criticism that they now control too much traffic between the US and Europe.
