Turkish all-cargo operator, MNG Airlines, has placed a follow-on order with Airbus for two more A330-200Fs to support its expanding cargo operations.
This order is in addition to two firm orders for the A330-200F that the carrier placed in 2007, bringing the carrier's total orders for this type of aircraft to four.
MNG Airlines' fleet includes nine Airbus A300Fs. The new A330-200Fs will enable MNG Airlines to supplement its A300s while expanding operations on its trunk routes with lower cost-per-tonne, not only within Europe, but also to the Middle East, Asia, China and the US, as world markets recover from the recession.
Offering 30% more volume than any freighter in its class, and with a range of more than 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) non-stop, the A330-200F enables operators to expand their business by opening up new or extending existing cargo routes.
The first A330-200 Freighter is now assembled and others are nearing completion. The first flight is scheduled for later this year, with the first deliveries planned for 2010.
