The first A330-200F freighter aircraft has rolled out from paintshop in St Martin, Toulouse, and is now being prepared for the flightline. The aircraft will be handed over to the Airbus flight-test department at the end of this month for ground tests, paving the way for its maiden flight in November.
The A330-200F program not only on track, but the aircraft is also set to exceed performance expectations.Preliminary data reveals that the aircraft can carry at least half a tonne more payload than initially published.
The first mid-sized cargo aircraft launched in forty years, the A330-200F is also the first Airbus product to address the market for heavy cargo.
Airbus currently has 67 firm orders from nine customers for the new freighter.
