ANA to invest $1.6b to upgrade fleet

12/29/2009 10:43:44 AM

All Nippon Airways (ANA) plans to spend US$1.64 billion through fiscal 2011 to revamp its jets serving destinations in the US and Europe, Reuters reported.

The airline company aims to invest in its aircraft fleet to prepare for the expected deregulation of Japan-US passenger air service in 2010, as well as an increase in takeoff-landing slots at Narita International Airport.

The planned investment will go toward acquiring and upgrading its mainstay long-haul jet, the Boeing 777-300ER.
