Heathrow linked with Taipei non-stop

3/5/2010 9:57:47 AM

Taiwan-based China Airlines is adding to its B747-400 freighter flights between Taipei and Manchester, UK with A340 services to Heathrow from March.

According to IAM, the airline’s Irish GSSA, the new non-stop London service will provide additional capacity for Ireland's pharmaceutical exports.

Currently, IAM uses an express overnight road feeder service to deliver cargo between the UK and Ireland.

Company managing director Ian McCool said, “China Airlines is already a key provider of main-deck capacity from Ireland to Asia. With this increase in frequency, it will enable us to target more of the considerable volumes of temperature-sensitive and express cargo moving from Ireland to Taipei and beyond."

China Airlines operates a fleet of 66 aircraft, including 20 B747-400 freighters.
