Brunei welcomes new airlines

8/25/2010 10:32:40 AM

Brunei says it's happy to see more international carriers introduce services to boost freight, tourism and commerce.

Hj Omarali Hj Mohd Ja'afar, director of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), said the department has an "open door" policy, when it comes to airlines seeking access to Brunei's aviation market.

Local industry officials, however, warned the national flag carrier Royal Brunei might have to learn to compete in any resulting tougher market.
