Qatar Airways Cargo is expanding its dedicated freighter routes with new services to Hanoi, Kozhikode and Bengaluru, and has confirmed an order for three more Boeing 777 Freighters.
Freighter operations to Kozhikode and onto Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), are served with an Airbus A300 freighter, boosting the airline's freighter capacity in India by an additional 40 metric tonnes a week.
Cargo flights from Doha to Hanoi began on April 15th, stopping in Hong Kong on the return flight. The weekly service is operated with one a dedicated Boeing 777F.
The additional freighter service to Kozhikode and Bengaluru will complement existing cargo operations to Kolkata.
Last year, Qatar Airways launched its first North American cargo route with dedicated freighter operations to Chicago - and received two of its three Boeing 777 freighters on order.
The airline's cargo operations will move to New Doha International Airport when the US$14.5 billion facility becomes operational.
With the addition of Bengaluru, Kozhikode and Hanoi, the airline's cargo operations now cover 29 destinations.
