MSC delays, lowers Asia/Med peak fees

Mediterranean Shipping Co. has updated delayed and lowered its planned peak season surcharges on shipments from Asia to the Mediterranean. MSC said it had postponed a planned peak season fee from Asia to east Med, Black Sea, and North African ports until Sept. 15. The fee, as first announced in mid-August, was to have been $225 per TEU for all Asia/Med and Asia/Black Sea shipments effective from Sept. 5. On shipments from Asia to western Med and Adriatic ports, the surcharge will be $125 per TEU from Sept. 5, rising to $200 per TEU from Sept. 15.   American Shipper
