Hamburg boosts container traffic to Russia

Due to the increasing demand for transport of goods to Russia, the Port of Hamburg will launch new feeder ships to the country from November, reported Handelsblatt.

Shipping firm Team Lines has hired ships from rival OOCL in order to enhance its services to the port of St Petersburg.
Swan Container Line resumed its weekly transport services to St Petersburg with two ships.

Unifeeder said it would start transporting goods to the new container terminal Ust-Luga from November onwards.

Hafen Hamburg Marketing said that via the new services the Port of Hamburg wants to increase its competitiveness compared to the ports in Rotterdam and Antwerp.
