COSCO Malaysia 014 E/W to Make a Maiden Call at Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT)

On November 1, 2011, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) – a joint venture of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP), MOL (Japan), Hanjin (Korea), Wanhai (Taiwan), held a maiden call celebration for Cosco Malaysia 014E/W of S.E.A service (South China/U.S. South West Coast Express Service) at TCIT.

 

With 102,834 DWT of tonnage, 334.07 m of LOA, and 8,501 TEUs of capacity, Cosco Malaysia 014E/W was scheduled to berth at 14:30 hrs lt on November 1 and depart at 5:00 hrs lt on November 2. Her route includes 07 ports being Cai Mep TCIT – Nansha – Hongkong – Yantian – XiamenLong Beach – Cai Mep TCIT.

 

 TCIT is now the biggest player in Cai Mep – Thi Vai area in terms of market share and number of weekly ship calls. With total area of 40ha of CY and equipped with 06 Post-Panamax STS cranes, 20 eRTG 6+1 cranes, 30 tractors, and 1,080 reefer plugs, TCIT has become the most modern deepwater terminal in Vietnam with the highest record in vessel handling productivity of 126 moves/hr/vessel on 8th October 2011.

 

TCIT is also well connected with other logistics facilities of SNP by road and waterway transportation system including Tan Cang – Song Than ICD (Binh Duong Province), Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD (Dong Nai Province), Tan Cang Terminal (HCM City), Tan Cang – My Thoi Terminal, Tan Cang – Cao Lanh Terminal, Tan Cang – Sa Dec terminal in the Mekong Delta, Tan Cang – Mien Trung Terminal (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh province), Tan Cang – 189 Terminal and Tan Cang – 128 ICD (Hai Phong) and Phnom Penh Port (Cambodia).
