The liner carrier CMA CGM said it plans to raise rates on a number of trades over the next six weeks.
The increases, effective Dec. 15, are:
- $600 per TEU from Asia to Mexico and the west coast of Central and South America
- $560 per 20-foot container and $800 per 40-foot container from Asia to the Caribbean
- $250 per TEU from Asia to West Africa
CMA CGM also said it will seek rate hikes, effective Jan. 1, on the eastbound transpacific in line with recent guidelines from the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement. The increases are $320 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container, $450 per 40-foot high-cube container, $510 per 45-foot container, and $640 per 53-foot container.
Lastly, the line said it will assess a peak season surcharge, as of Dec. 15, on shipments from Asia to the Mediterranean.
