CMA CGM north Europe service FEMEX drops Scandinavian ports of call

FRENCH shipping company CMA CGM is to extend its intra-Med French Europe Med Express (FEMEX) coverage to northern Europe effective immediately, reports Alphaliner. The weekly service will deploy five vessels in the 2,800 TEU range rather than its existing six 1,700-TEUers in service in 2009, then splitting it into two services in 2011, and further extending it to a Morocco call last month. The revised port rotation will drop the extra week for coverage to Scandinavia, and will now be Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Marsaxlokk, Izmir, Thessaloniki, Istanbul-Ambarli (Avcilar), Istanbul-Haydarpasa, Gebze, Gemlik, Thessaloniki, Aliaga, Marsaxlokk, Tangier, Casablanca and back to Hamburg.  Asian Shipper News
