THE Far East India Express (FIX) service has started calling at APM Terminals Pipavav in India. A consortium of shipping lines comprising Hanjin Shipping, STX Pan Ocean and KMTC operate the FIX service.
STX Pan Ocean's vessel, the STX Patraikos, was the first to call at the terminal, which is part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group on April 5.
A total of six 4,300-TEU ships are deployed on this service. The port rotation for the FIX service is Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Karachi, Port Klang, Singapore, returning to Kwangyang.
A release from the terminal operator said the FIX service at the Port of Pipavav in Gujarat provides the export-import trade in North West India with an additional connection to Asian markets and a direct sailing to Karachi in Pakistan.
