Maersk Line Revises South Atlantic Express Service

Maersk Line has revised its South Atlantic Express service. The container line has removed the Miami port call from the rotation, added a fourth vessel to the rotation and added direct coverage between northern Colombia, including Santa Marta, Barranquilla and Cartagena; Costa Rica; Guatemala; Honduras; and the U.S. The last call in Miami will be the Islandia, voyage 1327, departing from Miami on Aug. 14, and the other changes will take effect from the Varamo southbound sailing from Savannah, Ga., on Aug. 15. The new port rotation will be: Savannah; Norfolk, Va.; Wilmington, N.C.; Santo Tomas, Guatemala; Puerto Cortes, Honduras; Puerto Moin, Costa Rica; Manzanillo, Panama; Cartagena; Barranquilla; Santa Marta; Manzanillo; Santo Tomas; Puerto Cortes; and Savannah. Separately, Maersk Line, along with Safmarine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Deutsche Afrika-Linien, have decided to adjust their SAECS Service, effective Week 45. Specifically, the carriers will move their U.K. call from the London Container Terminal Tilbury to the new London Gateway Terminal. The new call will take effect with the MOL Caledon, voyage 137A.
