Maersk raising U.S.-Far East rates

   Maersk Line said it will be increase rates for cargo moving between the United States and Far East Asia on Nov. 15.


   For exports to the Far East moving through U.S. West Coast ports, the general rate increase is $80 for 20-foot dry boxes and $100 for other size dry boxes, including 40-footers, 40-foot high cubes, and 45-foot high cubes.


   For exports to the Far East moving through U.S. East Coast ports, the increase is $160 for 20-foot dry containers and $200 for other size dry boxes, including 40-footers, 40-foot high cubes, and 45-foot high cubes.


   For imports from the Far East through either East or West coast ports, the increases are $320 for 20-foot containers, $400 for 40-foot containers, $450 for 40-foot high cube boxes (dry or refrigerated), and $506 for 45-foot containers.
