Hanjin and Heung-A Shipping launch Northern China-Indonesia service

6/4/2007 11:04:25 AM

The new North China-Indonesia (NIS) service will deploy four 1,200 TEU vessels (one supplied by Hanjin and three by Heung-A), jointly operated by both shipping lines.

The NIS port rotation will be: Tianjin > Qingdao > Busan > Hong Kong > Jakarta > Singapore > Hong Kong > Shanghai > (Pyeongtaek every alternate week) > Incheon >Tianjin.

The new route is expected to improve service from Europe to Seoul and its outlying areas and meet the demand for cargo capacity on this route by including the ports of Incheon and Pyeongtaek.

Additionally, directly linking Tianjin and Qingdao is expected to satisfy the demand for capacity to and from China, Korea and Indonesia. The two companies also plan to co-operate more closely on the development of various service routes to meet market demand. (eyefortransport)
