As part of DHL’s strategy to build new terminals throughout Sweden, DHL Express has decided to invest around €10.7 million to build a completely new terminal in the Rosersberg industrial park in Stockholm.
Just two months ago, DHL announced its plans for a whole new terminal in Gothenburg, and the company’s new terminals in Örebro and Lulea were only completed a short time ago.
According to Lars Jordahn, CEO of DHL Express (Sweden), the new Rosersberg terminal will be a central node for shipments to the north of Stockholm. To date, all northbound freight to and from Stockholm has been handled via DHL's terminal in Västberga in the south of Stockholm.
Commissioning of the new terminal is planned for May 2009. DHL has entered into a co-operative agreement with real estate company, Kilenkrysset, involving the building of a 9,500 m2 terminal on a 45,000 m2 site with scope for potential expansion.
