The Grand Alliance carriers will join those of the New World Alliance on December 23 to expand market coverage on the Asia-Mediterranean trade.
The Grand Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd, MISC, NYK and OOCL, have announced a revised Asia-West Mediterranean service (EUM) that will include the New World Alliance lines APL, Hyundai and MOL.
The expanded EUM service will use eight ships of about 6,000 TEUs with the Grans Alliance providing six and New World two.
Chiwan will be added to the EUM, and the new rotation will be Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang, Jeddah, Damietta, Genoa, Fos, Barcelona, Valencia, Damietta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Busan.
