Maersk Line announced plans to implement a rate increase for the trade moving from Australia to North and Southeast Asia.
Effective April 15, freight rates from Australia to Japan, South Korea, Russia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Philippines will increase by $50 per container for dry and reefer shipments.
In a separate announcement, the Danish carrier said it plans to implement a general rate increase on the trade between the Far East Asia and the East Coast of South America.
Effective April 1, the increases will be $500 per 20-foot container and $1,000 per 40-foot container.
