Between Far East-Southeast Asia and northern European ports (including Baltic and Scandinavian ports), the Korean carrier is seeking $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU beginning July 1. Also on July 1, the carrier is implementing $100 per TEU and $200 per FEU increases on services between the Indian Subcontinent-Middle East and all European ports.
The increases apply to all types of container cargo, including reefer.
Hanjin also said it has received the last in a series of eight 4,300-TEU vessels ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries in 2005. The ship, the Hanjin Monaco, will be deployed on the carrier's All-Water North Atlantic (AWN) service. It is the last vessel Hanjin will take delivery of until the end of 2010.
