Hamburg Süd and Aliança have announced service improvements in the trade between South America East Coast - Caribbean, Central America and US-Gulf (UCLA Service).
The present two-loop setup with twelve 1,700 to 2,500 TEU vessels will be upgraded to a new main string with modern tonnage and full port coverage.
Seven 3,800 TEU ships will call at the following ports: Veracruz - Altamira - Houston - Cartagena - Suape - Santos - Rio Grande Navegantes - Paranaguá - Santos - Rio de Janeiro - Salvador - Puerto Cabello - Cartagena - Veracruz.
To complement this main service and to offer transhipment possibilities for other Hamburg Süd services a new dedicated Intra-Caribbean service will be introduced by Hamburg Süd, operating three 1,700 TEU vessels on a weekly frequency.
This service will call at following ports: Altamira - Veracruz - Havana - Manzanillo (PA) - Cartagena - Puerto Cabello - La Guaira - Altamira.
