Hanjin Shipping took delivery June 16 of a new Cape-size vessel from Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The vessel, the Hanjin Sines, has a double-hull fuel tank and a more efficient engine than earlier models. At 180,000 deadweight tons, a width of 45 meters and a length of 284 meters, the ship has a capacity of 199,500 cubic meters. It can cruise at a speed of 15.3 knots. Hanjin expects to haul primarily iron ore and coal on the ship.
Hanjin Shipping operates 92 bulk vessels, including 20 Cape-size ships. The company owns 33 vessels and charters another 59.
