Maersk Line has announced a general rate increase on its Trans-Atlantic services as of Sept. 1.
Along with other major carriers, the Danish line has recently raised rates on the Asia-Europe trade and is attempting to raise rates on the trans-Pacific as well.
“This rate increase is necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect,” the company said.
The increases, which apply equally to all eastbound and westbound cargo moving between the United States, Canada and Northern Europe, are: $400 per 20-foot container; $500 per 40-foot, high-cube and 45-foot containers
