8/26/2009 10:49:25 AM

CMA CGM said it is increasing rates in both directions between Europe and Australia-New Zealand.

Southbound, from Europe to Australia and New Zealand, rates will rise $300 per TEU, while northbound from Australia and New Zealand to Europe, rates will rise $200 per TEU.

The rate hikes go into effect Sept. 15.

On Aug. 15, the French carrier began applying a $175-per-TEU increase on all cargo moving southbound from the U.S. East and Gulf coasts to Australia and New Zealand.
