El Al to hike fares again due to higher fuel prices

10/29/2009 10:06:32 AM

El Al Israel Airlines has announced it was raising fuel surcharges by up to USD$23 per journey, effective from October 29, in response to rising oil prices.

El Al said fuel surcharges would rise: US$10 per leg for short-haul flights, US$17 for medium-haul, US$23 for long-haul routes.

El Al had raised fuel charges by US$25 per flight in May when oil prices reached US$60 a barrel.
