Two slot buyers on the CKYH Alliance’s main three Asia/Mediterranean strings have changed the services on which they take slots, according to ComPair Data.
China Shipping has switched from CKYH’s MD2 service to its MD1 service, while United Arab Shipping Co. has switched from the MD2 to the MD3.
The MD1 has a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Piraeus, Naples, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Piraeus, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. It’s usually operated with nine vessels, with an average capacity of 5,374 TEUs.
The MD2 has a rotation of Shanghai, Ninbgo, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Ashdod, Genoa, Livorno, Marseilles-Fos, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. It’s usually operated with nine vessels averaging of 6,100 TEUs.
The MD3 has a rotation of Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, La Spezia, Barcelona, Valencia, Algeciras, Port Said, Singapore and Busan. It’s usually operated with nine vessels averaging 5,571 TEUs.
All three services, according to ComPair Data, show two to three missing voyages between mid-October and February, while they are also now slow steaming, extending their total rotation times from 56 to 63 days.
