12/2/2010 10:16:25 AM

Maersk Line has added a vessel to, and slowed down, its AC2 service between the Far East and Mexico, the line said last week.

The service will go from seven to eight ships in a move that accompanies the pending suspension of Maersk’s complementary AC3 peak loader service, which is to be stopped from Dec. 8.

According to ComPair Data, the AC2 service has a rotation of Yantian, Hong Kong, Ningbo, Shanghai, Gwangyang, Yokohama, Lazaro Cardenas, Balboa, Yokohama, Xiamen and Yantian. The service will now be operated with eight vessels (all provided by Maersk) with an average capacity of 8,008 TEUs,

The to-be-suspended AC3 service has a rotation of Qingdao, Gwangyang, Yokohama, Lazaro Cardenas, Balboa and Qingdao. It’s operated with seven vessels averaging 4,299 TEUs.
