According to the latest report from Drewry, an independent maritime analyst, Maerks Line ranks number one among the Top 20 carriers in the third quarter of 2010. This is the 4th consecutive quarter that Maersk Line is a leader in reliability.
The on-time arrival percentage of Maersk Line’s vessels in third quarter is 78.9%. This is higher than the 76.5% recorded in second quarter, 2010.
Since the direct service from Vung Tau to US West Coast (TP6) was launched in May 2010, the on-time arrival has been 100%.
The TP6 service is one of seven trans-Pacific strings that Maersk Line offers in its global network. Maersk Line’s TP6 service offers a competitive product covering the Far East and US West Coast. Ports of call eastbound include Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia; Vung Tau, Vietnam; Yantian, China; Hong Kong, China and Los Angeles, USA.
The westbound rotation include Los Angeles, USA; Yokohama, Japan; Nagoya, Japan; Shanghai, China; Ningbo, China; Xiamen, China; Hong Kong, China; Yantian, China, and Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia. South Vietnam imports are serviced via transhipment at Hong Kong by feeder service. North and Central Vietnam are served by feeder via Hong Kong and/or Tanjung Pelepas.
The world’s biggest shipping line currently operates a fleet of 500 container vessels.
