Maersk drops PTP, speeds up Africa service

1/7/2011 10:05:30 AM

Maersk Line expanded its coverage from south China to East Africa this week with the all-new service Mashariki Express.

Instead of transhipping from Malaysia’s Tanjung Pelepas, it now provides direct sailings to destinations in Africa from Nansha and Yantian, to Mombasa in Kenya and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

The new service provides the fastest transit times in the industry – 18 days shipping directly from south China to East Africa.

In addition, Maersk Line also upgraded its existing FEW3 service, strengthening the coverage from south China to West Africa with additional port calls and faster transit times.
