Al Maktoum officially open

The UAE's Al Maktoum International Airport has officially opened for general aviation operations.   Dubai Airports says the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted approvals at the Jebel Ali airport   The US$33 billion complex will be the world's largest urban development project upon completion.   It comprises Al Maktoum International Airport, a logistics city, an aviation services city plus residential and commercial projects. Passenger services are not likely until the end of the year, although cargo operators already have made some flights from there.                                                                                             Aircargo Asia Pacific
