El Al Israel Airlines has announced that beginning on April 1 air fares will rise significantly due to the higher cost of fuel. Fares will rise by US$22- US$45, depending on the destination. Fares will rise by US$22 on short and medium-haul flights and by US$45 on long-haul flights.
Brent crude has reached US$114.50 per barrel and is up more than 10% this month. It had hit a 29-month high of US$120 a barrel earlier in February.
