Maersk Line has introduced a new vessel, West Africa Maximum (Wafmax) for carrying cargo to Africa, especially the West and Central Africa sub-regions, reported All Africa.
The firm, which is the first shipping line to introduce weekly vessel calls to ports in the West and Central Africa sub-regions, said the new vessel will have a capacity of 4,500 TEUs.
Managing director of Maersk Nigeria, David Skov, and regional manager of Maersk Line for Africa, Ivan Heesom-Green, said that the vessel was novel to the trade in terms of size among other attributes.
