Evergreen Line said it is splitting an intra-Asia service between China and Indonesia into two unlinked feeder loops.
The carrier’s former HBI service will now become two feeders – one linking Hong Kong with mainland China and another linking Tanjung Pelepas with Indonesia. Evergreen said the move was made to “better meet the demands of those changing markets.”
The new HBH service, operated with two 2,868-TEU vessels, has a rotation of Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Hong Kong, and Xingang. The PIS service operated with one 1,164-TEU vessel, has a rotation of Tanjung Pelepas, Jakarta, Semarang, and Tanjung Pelepas.
Additionally, Evergreen said it will join, as a vessel provider, a CNC service connecting China, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
The service has a rotation of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Manila, Jakarta, Surabaya, Manila, Hong Kong, and Qingdao. According to ComPair Data, the service was previously operated with four CNC vessels with an average capacity of 2,604 TEUs. CNC is the intra-Asia subsidiary of CMA CGM.
