Mediterranean Shipping Co. has joined the northbound leg of a service linking the Oceania region with the U.S. East Coast.
The service is the Hamburg Süd and Maersk Line operated Oceania string, with MSC taking slots on the leg covering the northbound rotation of Sydney, Melbourne, Timaru, Port Chalmers, Napier, Tauranga, Auckland, Manzanillo (Panama), Cartagena, Philadelphia, and Savannah.
The service is operated with 10 vessels (five each from Hamburg Süd and Maersk) with an average capacity of 3,271 TEUs. Hapag-Lloyd and Alianca also take slots.
