Hapag-Lloyd plans to implement a new round of general rate increases on its East Asia services that will take effect July 15.
The German carrier said rates on all cargo from East Asia to the east coast of South America will go up by $500 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
From East Asia to Mexico, Central America and the west coast of South America, the carrier’s planned rate hike will be $400 per TEU.
From East Asia to the Caribbean and Panama, Hapag-Lloyd will raise its rates by $560 per TEU and $800 per FEU.
The carrier will also push its rates up by $125 per TEU on westbound shipments from Pakistan to North Europe and the Mediterranean, starting July 9.
