The liner carrier Hapag-Lloyd said it is adding a vessel to a Mediterranean-Pacific service it operates with compatriot carrier Hamburg Sud.
The line’s MPS service will go from 10 to 11 ships from early August. Current average vessel size on the service is 2,798 TEUs, with Hapag-Lloyd providing eight vessels and Hanburg Sud two, according to ComPair Data.
The rotation of the service will be Valencia, Cagliari , Livorno, Genoa, Marseilles-Fos, Barcelona, Valencia, Cartagena, Manzanillo (Mexico), Los Angeles, Oakland, Tacoma, Vancouver, Portland, Oakland, Los Angeles, Manzanillo (Mexico), Manzanillo (Panama), Cartagena, Caucedo, Tangier, and Valencia.
The service recently switched calls in the Pacific Northwest from Seattle to Tacoma. Also, Hapag-Lloyd said a westbound call at Tangier will be eliminated in early August.
