SOUTH KOREA's Hanjin Shipping is expanding its service network in Western Australia from the middle of January by introducing the West Australia Express (WAX), which is currently operated by "K" Line under the name of the West Australia Container Service (WASCO). Hanjin Shipping will join "K" Line, its partner of the CKYH Alliance, which operates two 1,400-TEU ships sailing between Singapore and Fremantle.
The port rotation of the WAX service is Singapore, Fremantle and Singapore. The service will start on January 18, 2013.
Hanjin Shipping said that with the introduction of this new service and an agency, it will be able to cover both the east and west coasts of Australia broadening its network in the region.
Currently, Hanjin Shipping operates two services to Australia: the Australia Service (AUS) and the China-Korea-Australia (CKA).
