MSC Hikes Europe-Asia Rates

Ocean carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. has announced general rate increases from Europe to the Middle East and Asia for the first quarter of 2013.   Effective immediately, the rate hike will be $1,500 per refrigerated container originating from Europe to any destination in the Middle East or Asia.   Beginning March 10, the increase will be $150 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container on all dry cargo from Europe to Asia, and $150 per 20- or 40-foot container on all dry cargo from Europe to the Middle East.   The Journal of Commerce
