Hapag-Lloyd will upgrade the rotation of the Pacific Atlantic Express Service to include Qingdao and Xingang, China, and Busan, South Korea.
The new Asia itinerary will be: Yokohama, Japan; Shanghai; Qingdao; Xingang; Busan; Kobe, Japan; Nagoya, Japan; and Tokyo.
The ocean carrier will also increase rates on its trade between South America’s east and west coasts and the Caribbean and Europe, effective April 1.
From South America’s east and west coasts to North Europe, the increase will be $400 per 20-foot-equivalent unit and $800 per 40-foot-equivalent unit. From South America’s east and west coasts to the Mediterranean, the hike will be $200 per TEU and $400 per FEU. From the Caribbean to North Europe, the increase will be $200 per TEU and FEU, and to the Mediterranean, the hike will be $200 per TEU and $400 per FEU.
From North Europe to the Central America and the Caribbean and South America’s east and west coasts, the hike will be $400 per TEU for dry equipment only. From the Mediterranean to Central America and the Caribbean and South America’s east and west coasts, the increase will be $200 per TEU for dry equipment only.
Additionally, Hapag-Lloyd will implement new service fees for the Azores and the Madeira archipelago, effective March 22.
