OOCL yesterday unveiled its new OOCL Memphis in Shanghai.
The 8,888 20-foot-equivalent unit vessel will be used on the Super Shuttle Express service in the trans-Pacific trade connecting Asia and North America. It is the fourth of eight 8,888-TEU vessels that OOCL has commissioned Hudong-Zhonghua to build.
The ship’s 42-day port rotation begins in Yantian, China, with calls at Da Chan Bay, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and Long Beach, and then back to Asia, calling Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Hong Kong and Yantian again.
